MB250 ~ 249 DMK
I was recently contacted by a
family who were looking for a home for their grandfathers Adler
motorcycles. I travelled to High Wycombe to find a Sprinter Solo bought
new by Francis Robert (Bob) Lord in 1957 and this MB250 bought second hand
a few years later. I bought both bikes and they came with a wide variety
of spare parts and documentation from the late 1950's.

In 1959 Bob's friend Brian
Beckford
rode this bike accompanied by Bob on the Sprinter Solo back to the
Adler factory in Frankfurt for servicing. The engine for this bike is in
a dismantled state, however I hope to be able to reassemble and restore
the bike once I've completed the MB200, Favorit and Sprinter
restorations.
As part of the documentation
that came with the bikes, was a road test of an MB250, from the "Motor
Cycling" magazine dated 17th February 1955. The bike in the test has the
registration number 250 DMK and must have been registered on the same
day as 249 DMK by the same dealer. I wonder if it has survived ?
